The Department of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications and nominations for one full-time, non-tenure-earning, Lecturer in Event Management.
Lecturer in Event Management (non-tenure track position): The University of Florida (UF) (http://www.ufl.edu) invites applications and nominations for a lecturer position in the Department of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management (http://hhp.ufl.edu/about/departments/them/). The primary position responsibility is to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in (1) event management and (2) hospitality management. Because of tremendous growth in the undergraduate event management program, immediate need is anticipated in the following courses: Event Promotion, Advanced Event Management, Convention Sales and Service, and Food & Beverage Management. The position will also require assistance with the supervision of event, tourism, and hospitality management internship/practicum student field experiences as well as the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) student chapter. Contribution to both online and residential courses and program development is required. Outreach through cultivating professional relations between the Event management program and industry. Provide student career advising and contribute to service activities at the program, department, and college levels. A successful applicant will be given opportunities and time to expand the breadth of their teaching experience and to develop new coursework and educational
programs.
