Dear Colleagues,

The board member of the Korea America Hospitality and Tourism Educators Association is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 2025 THEREPS (Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Conference for Researchers, Educators, Practitioners, and Students).

The THEREPS conference committee invites researchers, educators, practitioners, and students who would like to share their knowledge, business know-how, and valuable experiences. Conference attendees will share their expertise through completed research, research-in-progress, case studies, or open discussion in stand-up presentations, poster presentations, or undergraduate research forums.

Presentations will be available in the following formats:

1. Refereed research presentations

Research presentations should be based on either theoretical or empirical studies that demonstrate sound research questions, research methodology, and implications. Stand-up or poster presentation formats will be available. Master’s students as well as doctoral students are welcome to present their current research projects.

2. Undergraduate Student Research Forum

The Undergraduate Student Research Forum is designed to provide undergraduate students with opportunities to present their research proposals, case studies, or completed studies. Stand-up presentation format is only available. The faculty advisor must attend the conference with the student presenter.

Extended Abstracts Submission Guideline (applicable to all formats)

  • All extended abstracts will go through a double-blind review process.
  • English is an official language. Abstracts will be accepted in English only.
  • Extended abstracts should be submitted in MS Word (Times New Roman Font, size 12, and double-spaced) and should not exceed 1,500 words (not including references and tables).
  • Please submit the extended abstracts to the conference EasyChair system:
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=thereps2025
  • For inquiries regarding abstract submission, please contact the Chair of Research, Dr. Hyoung Ju Song (hyoung.song@ucf.edu) or Dr. Jeongyeol Park (Jeong-Yeol.Park@ucf.edu).
  • Note that extended abstracts will be reviewed only for the best paper selection and will not be included in the conference proceedings. The conference proceedings include only one-page summary abstracts.

Poster Presentation Guideline

Poster Dimensions

The poster size should be equal to or smaller than 36 inches in height and 48 inches in width.

Poster Location and Set Up

A poster display board will be provided by the conference organizer. There will be two poster sessions (morning and afternoon). The assigned poster session can be found in the program. Each poster board will be marked with the poster title. Presenters must be in place 10 minutes before the session. It is the author’s responsibility to put up and remove their posters at the specified times. Delegates are required to stay with their poster.

Recommendations

All posters must be written in English. Your poster should be self-explanatory and include key highlights for viewers to comprehend the scope of your work from the content of the poster.

We recommend that you:

  1. Include the title, author’s names, and affiliations.
  2. Avoid too much text in the poster.
  3. Provide actionable and meaningful recommendations (for completed studies) and delineate expected contributions and implications (for studies in progress).
  4. Provide your contact details (full name, e-mail, phone number, probably at the bottom right corner) for those that are interested.
